Handling & Use Requirements

Equipment must be used within rated load capacities and installed on suitable warehouse flooring. Improper loading, uneven distribution, or use outside intended applications can result in structural failure.

Inspect all shipments upon delivery and note any freight damage before signing. Installation and final configuration should be verified by qualified personnel to ensure safe operation.

Delivery & Freight Shipping

All equipment ships via LTL or dedicated freight carriers and is delivered curbside or dock-high depending on facility setup. Liftgate service is not included unless specifically requested at the time of quote.

You are responsible for unloading the shipment and must have appropriate equipment (forklift or dock access) available at delivery. Failure to meet delivery requirements may result in re-delivery fees.

Inspect all items upon arrival before signing the Bill of Lading. Any visible damage must be noted at delivery—claims cannot be processed after acceptance without documentation.

Lead times vary based on product type, configuration, and supplier availability. You will receive confirmation of estimated ship dates after order review.

Description

Pallet Rack Upright Frame for Selective Warehouse Storage Systems

This 96" pallet rack upright frame is designed for standard selective pallet racking systems operating within moderate load ranges. It provides structural support for beam levels and is intended for facilities using conventional pallet storage with consistent load profiles.

This frame is not designed for high-density systems or heavy industrial loads exceeding 10,000 lb per bay. Use higher-capacity frames for those applications.

Available Configurations

Frame Depth Options:

  • 42" depth – standard for 48" pallets
  • 48" depth – full pallet support

Included in All Configurations:

  • 96" upright frame
  • Bolted cross bracing
  • 3" x 4" welded base plate
  • White finish
  • Teardrop punch columns

What This Frame Is Used For

This upright frame is the vertical load-bearing component in a pallet racking system. It connects with beams to create storage levels and transfers load to the concrete slab.

Use this frame when:

  • You need direct access to every pallet in a selective racking layout
  • Your warehouse uses standard 48" deep pallets
  • Your load requirements fall within moderate capacity ranges
  • You are building or expanding a general-purpose warehouse storage system

When This Is the Wrong System

Do not use this frame if:

  • Your system exceeds 10,000 lb per bay
  • You require high-density storage such as push-back, drive-in, or pallet flow rack
  • You are storing very heavy industrial materials
  • You are planning an automation-ready or high-bay system
  • Your loads are highly variable or exceed standard pallet profiles

Using this frame in these conditions can create structural limitations, unsafe load behavior, or system failure.

Depth Selection

42" depth: Standard choice for 48" pallets. This depth allows controlled pallet overhang and is commonly used in selective pallet rack systems.

48" depth: Provides fuller pallet support and reduces overhang, but requires more floor space.

Incorrect depth selection can reduce load stability, create unsafe pallet positioning, and affect forklift handling.

Height Considerations

The 96" frame height must be evaluated against ceiling height, sprinkler clearance requirements, and forklift lift height.

Failure to validate these constraints can result in non-compliant installation or inaccessible upper beam levels.

Capacity & Load Behavior

Rated Capacity: 10,000 lb per bay

This rating assumes 48" beam spacing and a uniformly distributed static load. Actual capacity depends on beam spacing, number of beam levels, first beam height, load distribution, slab thickness, anchoring conditions, and seismic requirements.

Adding beam levels increases connection points and improves structural stability. Wide spacing between levels reduces system capacity.

Final system capacity should be verified for seismic requirements, permit applications, and site-specific configurations.

System Compatibility

  • Compatible with standard teardrop beams
  • Works with traditional teardrop connections
  • Works with shaved-rivet new-style beams
  • Beam levels adjust in 2" vertical increments

Construction & Materials

  • High-strength 55,000 PSI steel
  • 3" x 3" column profile
  • Teardrop punch design
  • Bolted frame bracing for field-replaceable components
  • Welded base plate for floor anchoring

Seismic & Compliance

  • Manufactured to Rack Manufacturers Institute standards
  • R-Mark Certified
  • Suitable for projects requiring seismic calculations
  • Suitable for permit-submission workflows when properly engineered

Seismic zone affects anchoring requirements, capacity ratings, and final system configuration.

Failure & Misuse Scenarios

This system will fail or underperform if:

  • Used beyond rated capacity
  • Installed without proper anchoring
  • Paired with incorrect beam spacing
  • Installed on inadequate slab thickness
  • Used in seismic zones without engineering validation

Freight & Project Requirements

  • Ships via LTL freight
  • Sold as individual upright frames
  • Anchors and installation hardware are not included unless specified
  • Final system design should be validated before purchase
