Handling & Use Requirements

Equipment must be used within rated load capacities and installed on suitable warehouse flooring. Improper loading, uneven distribution, or use outside intended applications can result in structural failure.

Inspect all shipments upon delivery and note any freight damage before signing. Installation and final configuration should be verified by qualified personnel to ensure safe operation.

Delivery & Freight Shipping

All equipment ships via LTL or dedicated freight carriers and is delivered curbside or dock-high depending on facility setup. Liftgate service is not included unless specifically requested at the time of quote.

You are responsible for unloading the shipment and must have appropriate equipment (forklift or dock access) available at delivery. Failure to meet delivery requirements may result in re-delivery fees.

Inspect all items upon arrival before signing the Bill of Lading. Any visible damage must be noted at delivery—claims cannot be processed after acceptance without documentation.

Lead times vary based on product type, configuration, and supplier availability. You will receive confirmation of estimated ship dates after order review.

Description

24-Inch Gravity Wheel Conveyors for Cartons, Totes & Lightweight Warehouse Flow

Gravity Wheel 24" Conveyor Systems are designed for manual and gravity-assisted movement of lightweight cartons, totes, boxes, and packaged products in warehouse, fulfillment, packaging, and shipping operations. These conveyor sections use free-spinning skate wheels to move products without powered motors, making them a cost-effective solution for temporary lines, packing stations, assembly areas, and flexible warehouse flow paths.

This system is configured specifically for lightweight unit handling with stable, flat-bottom products. Straight sections and curved conveyor sections can be combined to create custom gravity flow layouts for distribution centers, ecommerce fulfillment operations, manufacturing support lines, and shipping departments.

Available Gravity Wheel Conveyor Styles

Straight Gravity Wheel Conveyor Sections

Straight gravity wheel conveyor sections create direct product flow paths between workstations, packing stations, sortation areas, shipping lanes, and warehouse transfer zones.

  • Carton transfer lines
  • Order fulfillment operations
  • Packaging stations
  • Shipping departments
  • Temporary conveyor setups
  • Assembly support operations

45° Gravity Wheel Curve Conveyor Sections

45-degree gravity wheel conveyor curves allow gradual directional changes while maintaining continuous product flow. Use these sections where conveyor lines need moderate turns between workstations or around space constraints.

90° Gravity Wheel Curve Conveyor Sections

90-degree gravity wheel conveyor curves are used for major directional transitions, corner routing, multi-station layouts, and warehouse flow redirection. Product stability is critical when using 90-degree curves because unstable, soft-bottom, or unevenly weighted products may not track consistently.

Common Applications

  • Ecommerce fulfillment centers
  • Warehouse packing stations
  • Carton handling operations
  • Shipping departments
  • Assembly support lines
  • Distribution centers
  • Packaging operations
  • Sortation areas
  • Temporary conveyor lines
  • Manual product transfer zones

System Construction & Design

Gravity wheel conveyors use multiple independently rotating skate wheels mounted within formed steel side channels. The wheel design minimizes rolling resistance while supporting manual and gravity-assisted product movement.

  • Formed galvanized steel frames
  • Heavy-duty steel side channels
  • Multiple wheel density configurations
  • Straight and curved conveyor sections
  • Modular expandable layout capability

Curved sections are commonly available with 4-foot or 5-foot outside radius configurations. Wheel spacing and wheel density directly affect product support and conveyor performance.

Operational Advantages

  • Manual product flow without power: Moves products without powered motors, reducing energy use and simplifying installation.
  • Flexible conveyor layouts: Straight and curved sections can be combined into custom warehouse flow paths.
  • Lightweight system design: Easier to reposition than many powered or heavy-duty roller conveyor systems.
  • Low maintenance operation: Fewer moving components than powered conveyor systems.

📚 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What products should use gravity wheel conveyors?

Gravity wheel conveyors should only be used for lightweight cartons, totes, boxes, and packaged products with smooth flat bottoms. Do not use them for pallets or unstable industrial loads.

Can gravity wheel conveyors handle pallets?

Gravity wheel conveyors are not designed for pallet handling. Palletized loads can damage wheel assemblies and conveyor frames.

When should curved gravity wheel sections be used?

Curved sections should only be used when conveyor layouts require directional changes. Products with unstable bottoms may not track consistently through curves.

Are gravity wheel conveyors designed for automated conveyor systems?

Gravity wheel conveyors are designed for manual or gravity-assisted product flow. High-speed automated systems typically require powered conveyor equipment.

What products should not use gravity wheel conveyors?

Do not use gravity wheel conveyors for soft-bottom containers, irregular loads, very small packages, or unstable products. These products may jam or stall during movement.

Are gravity wheel conveyors suitable for continuous heavy-duty operation?

Standard gravity wheel conveyors are not designed for extreme continuous-duty industrial applications. High-cycle operations may require reinforced conveyor systems or alternative material handling equipment.
