Handling & Use Requirements

Equipment must be used within rated load capacities and installed on suitable warehouse flooring. Improper loading, uneven distribution, or use outside intended applications can result in structural failure.

Inspect all shipments upon delivery and note any freight damage before signing. Installation and final configuration should be verified by qualified personnel to ensure safe operation.

Delivery & Freight Shipping

All equipment ships via LTL or dedicated freight carriers and is delivered curbside or dock-high depending on facility setup. Liftgate service is not included unless specifically requested at the time of quote.

You are responsible for unloading the shipment and must have appropriate equipment (forklift or dock access) available at delivery. Failure to meet delivery requirements may result in re-delivery fees.

Inspect all items upon arrival before signing the Bill of Lading. Any visible damage must be noted at delivery—claims cannot be processed after acceptance without documentation.

Lead times vary based on product type, configuration, and supplier availability. You will receive confirmation of estimated ship dates after order review.

Description

Ball Transfer Conveyor Tables for Omni-Directional Product Movement

The 10 ft. Ball Transfer Table is designed for manual omni-directional movement of cartons, totes, packages, and lightweight products in warehouses, packaging lines, assembly stations, and conveyor transfer areas. Unlike standard gravity conveyors, it allows smooth 360-degree load movement for easy rotating, repositioning, and transferring. Built with a heavy-duty steel frame and precision ball transfer assemblies, it supports efficient handling at transfer points and workstations. Best for flat-bottom products, not pallet or forklift applications.

Best Applications

  • Packaging and shipping stations
  • Conveyor transfer intersections
  • Manual sortation areas
  • Assembly and inspection workstations
  • Product rotation stations
  • Carton handling systems
  • Warehouse transfer points
  • Material handling work cells

Do Not Use For

  • Pallet handling applications
  • Forklift loading zones
  • Impact-loading environments
  • Powered conveyor accumulation
  • Uneven or unstable-bottom products
  • Heavy concentrated point loads

Ball Transfer Tables vs Gravity Conveyors

Ball transfer tables are designed for omni-directional product movement and manual load positioning. Traditional gravity conveyors are designed for straight-line product flow only and do not support side-to-side or rotational movement.

Important Operational Considerations

Ball transfer tables work best in clean indoor environments. Dust can affect performance. Loads must be evenly distributed for smooth movement. Regular cleaning, inspection, and lubrication help maintain efficiency and extend service life.

Installation and Maintenance

Proper maintenance improves operating performance and extends the service life of ball transfer conveyor tables.

  • Regular Inspection: Inspect ball transfer assemblies for restricted movement, damaged housings, or excessive wear. Verify mounting hardware and seals remain secure during operation.
  • Cleaning: Remove dust, debris, cardboard particles, and contaminants regularly to maintain smooth ball movement. Use cleaning agents compatible with steel components to reduce corrosion risk.
  • Lubrication: Lubricate ball transfer assemblies routinely in high-cycle or elevated-temperature environments to maintain consistent movement performance.
  • Replacement of Worn Components: Replace damaged or worn ball transfer assemblies immediately to prevent uneven product movement and operational downtime. Individual ball transfers can be replaced independently without replacing the full conveyor section.
  • Technical Support and Upgrades: Facilities operating in demanding environments should review maintenance intervals, replacement schedules, and upgraded component options periodically based on throughput requirements.

Key Features

  • 360° Omni-Directional Product Movement: Allows cartons and packaged goods to move in multiple directions for manual positioning, rotation, and transfer operations.
  • Heavy-Duty Steel Construction: Rigid steel frame and industrial ball assemblies support long-term warehouse and manufacturing use.
  • Replaceable Ball Transfer Assemblies: Individual ball transfers can be serviced or replaced independently to simplify maintenance and reduce downtime.
  • Flexible Conveyor Transfer Integration: Designed for use at conveyor intersections, transfer stations, assembly lines, and packaging operations.
  • Compact Manual Transfer Solution: Supports directional product handling without requiring powered transfer systems or complex automation equipment.

📚 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What are ball transfer tables used for?

Ball transfer tables are used for manual omni-directional movement of cartons, totes, and packaged products in warehouse and assembly operations. They are not designed for powered conveying or pallet handling.

Can ball transfer tables handle pallets?

Do not use ball transfer tables for palletized loads or forklift traffic. Concentrated pallet weight can damage the ball assemblies and reduce system lifespan.

What products work best on ball transfer tables?

Flat-bottom cartons, totes, cases, and stable packaged goods move most effectively across ball transfer surfaces. Uneven-bottom or unstable products may not transfer consistently.

How much weight can a ball transfer table support?

Each ball assembly supports up to 50 lbs. Maximum unit load must not exceed the combined capacity supported by four ball assemblies (200 lbs. maximum).

Are the ball transfer assemblies replaceable?

Yes. Individual ball transfer assemblies can be replaced independently without replacing the entire conveyor section.
