Handling & Use Requirements

Equipment must be used within rated load capacities and installed on suitable warehouse flooring. Improper loading, uneven distribution, or use outside intended applications can result in structural failure.

Inspect all shipments upon delivery and note any freight damage before signing. Installation and final configuration should be verified by qualified personnel to ensure safe operation.

Delivery & Freight Shipping

All equipment ships via LTL or dedicated freight carriers and is delivered curbside or dock-high depending on facility setup. Liftgate service is not included unless specifically requested at the time of quote.

You are responsible for unloading the shipment and must have appropriate equipment (forklift or dock access) available at delivery. Failure to meet delivery requirements may result in re-delivery fees.

Inspect all items upon arrival before signing the Bill of Lading. Any visible damage must be noted at delivery—claims cannot be processed after acceptance without documentation.

Lead times vary based on product type, configuration, and supplier availability. You will receive confirmation of estimated ship dates after order review.

Description

192" Pallet Rack Upright Frames – 18,000 lb Capacity

These 192" pallet rack upright frames are designed for high-bay selective racking systems where vertical storage and load capacity must be maximized without reducing layout flexibility. Built from 55,000 PSI structural steel, each frame supports up to 18,000 lbs per bay under standard configurations.

The industry-standard teardrop connection system is compatible with most standard teardrop pallet rack beams, making these upright frames suitable for new installations, rack expansions, and replacement projects.

Best Fit Applications

  • Selective pallet racking systems
  • Warehouses with 16 ft+ clear height
  • 3PL and distribution center storage layouts
  • Existing teardrop rack system expansions
  • Projects requiring RMI-compliant pallet rack components

Not Recommended For

  • Do not use for drive-in, push-back, or pallet flow racking systems.
  • Do not assume 18,000 lb capacity without layout-specific validation.
  • Do not use where slab conditions cannot support required anchoring.
  • Avoid in facilities where forklift reach or sprinkler clearance is insufficient.

Key Features

  • Industry-standard teardrop upright design
  • Up to 18,000 lb capacity per bay
  • 3" x 3" structural columns
  • 2" vertical beam adjustability
  • Bolted frame bracing for serviceability
  • Compatible with most standard teardrop beam systems
  • RMI / R-Mark certified manufacturing standards

Capacity and Load Considerations

Frame capacity is not fixed. It changes based on beam spacing, first beam height, number of beam levels, floor slab thickness, anchoring method, and seismic requirements.

Wider beam spacing reduces frame capacity. Additional beam levels generally improve frame stability by adding more connection points.

Depth Selection Guidance

  • 42" depth: Standard choice for most 48" deep pallets.
  • 48" depth: Provides fuller pallet support with less overhang.
  • 36" or 44" depth: Used for specific pallet sizes, layout constraints, or clearance requirements.

Incorrect frame depth can create unsafe pallet overhang, reduced load stability, and forklift handling issues.

Height and Clearance Requirements

A 192" upright frame requires adequate ceiling height, sprinkler clearance, and forklift lift capacity. Failure to verify these conditions can result in unusable upper beam levels or non-compliant storage layouts.

Seismic and Compliance Considerations

Seismic zone, slab thickness, and anchoring requirements can change the allowable capacity of the rack system. These frames are manufactured to RMI standards and are suitable for engineered layouts requiring stamped calculations.

System Integration

These upright frames are compatible with most standard teardrop pallet rack beams. They are not compatible with non-teardrop or proprietary rack systems unless verified before purchase.

📚 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can this upright frame support 18,000 lbs in any configuration?

No. Capacity drops if beam spacing increases, anchoring is insufficient, or slab conditions are inadequate.

Is this frame compatible with my existing pallet racking system?

Only if your system uses standard teardrop connections. Non-teardrop systems will not connect without verified compatibility.

Can I use this frame for drive-in or push-back racking?

No. This frame is designed for selective pallet racking and is not suitable for high-density systems.

Do I need seismic calculations for this product?

Yes, if your jurisdiction requires permits. Capacity and anchoring must be verified based on seismic zone, layout, and slab conditions.

Is 192" height suitable for my warehouse?

Only if your ceiling height, sprinkler clearance, and forklift reach allow safe use of the upper beam levels.
